Pasifika students are proud of their culture and make a significant contribution to Newlands College. Staff, students and families all work together to support the well-being, learning and achievement of the students through a variety of ways.

These include:

• Pasifika students, parents and fono are encouraged to contact the school whenever the need arises, no matter what the issue is.
• Mentoring and academic tracking of students.
• Celebrating Pasifika culture though a range of performance opportunities.
• Regular meetings of Pasifika families to discuss a range of topics related to the well-being, learning and achievement of Pasifika students.
• Opportunities for Pasifika student leadership through the Komiti Pasifika, the School Council Pasifika Representative, and leadership of teaching staff professional development groups.
