BACKGROUND
The Itinerant Music Scheme is a government education scheme that allows students to learn a musical instrument. At Newlands College, students can learn most musical instruments including vocal. Students come out of class time to have a music lesson with an instrumentalist teacher for a maximum of half an hour once a week. We also have numerous instruments the students can hire if required. Music students are given priority for lessons as this directly affects their academic goals.
