Our two dedicated Learning Support Coordinators (LSCs) act as vital links between students, teachers, and families. They work strategically across the school to identify students who require extra assistance and ensure that appropriate supports are in place. By collaborating with external agencies and internal staff, our LSCs help bridge the gap for learners with diverse needs, ensuring no student is left behind.
We are committed to providing an even playing field for all students during assessments. Special Assessment Conditions (SAC) are available for eligible students to remove barriers to their achievement in NCEA. This may include support such as readers, writers, extra time, or the use of a computer, ensuring that a student’s results truly reflect their understanding and ability rather than their learning or physical challenges.
The Learning Hub is a welcoming, inclusive space designed for students who need a focused environment outside of the traditional classroom. It serves as a central point for small-group tutoring, supervised study, and targeted intervention. Whether a student needs help breaking down a complex assignment or a quiet place to catch up on coursework, the Hub provides the professional guidance and resources necessary for success.
For students seeking a more practical and life-skills-based pathway, we offer alternative courses such as SPEC (South Pacific Educational Courses). These programmes are designed to be highly flexible and student-led, focusing on developing key competencies and personal confidence. Through SPEC, students engage in project-based learning that celebrates their individual strengths and prepares them for a successful transition into the community and future employment.
