Orienteering

BACKGROUND
Orienteering is a sport requiring participants to navigate themselves through unfamiliar terrain by visiting checkpoints, known as controls, in the correct order using a map. The aim is to correctly complete the course in the shortest time. In 2013 there are a number of events planned for Wellington schools. These are held on Sundays, approximately every two weeks from 10 February to 23 June. Depending on numbers and ability a team will be selected to represent the school at the North Island Championships.

TRAINING
Once a week in terms one and two

UNIFORM
PE top & PE shorts
Polyprop and leggings (provided by the college)
College tracksuit for all students travelling to North Island and National events.

COMPETITIONS
24 February - 23 June - CSW Championship Series
2-4 May - North Island Championship - Auckland

SEASON
Terms Two and Three
